We invite participants to submit abstracts for papers and posters on any topic relevant to the archaeology and history of the Andes and Amazonia. Proposals for posters related to the Andes and Amazonia, but outside of archaeology, history, or cognate disciplines, are also welcome, in the interest of fostering interdisciplinary ties among researchers working in similar regions. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words. As we have a limited number of slots for papers, please consider whether your research would also be suitable as a poster presentation.
Papers are tentatively allotted 20 minutes each, with a 20-minute discussion period at the end of each session. Posters will be displayed in the conference atrium (location of registration, breaks, and lunch) during the day on Saturday, with a special session time allotted to facilitate interaction between presenters and participants.
Abstracts are due Friday, September 22. They will be reviewed by an inter-disciplinary committee of faculty and students at Cornell University. Participants will be notified of acceptance by Monday, October 2 at the latest.
Note: You must still register for the conference even if your abstract is accepted.
Registration is required but free. All Cornell and non-Cornell attendees must register by Sunday, October 15. To register, please fill out this form:
